R2R+1bit dual structures
A new benchmark for portable DACs and amplifiers
The D17 uses iBasso's proprietary discrete R2R and 1-bit DAC. It features a four-channel, fully symmetrical R2R discrete component DAC that uses a total of 284 high-precision film resistors with an accuracy of 0.01%. R2R decoding ensures a natural, refined sound with natural analog reproduction, offering a unique, vivid listening experience. iBasso's proprietary 1-bit DAC uses 8 sets of 8E, a total of 64 PWM DACs, delivering a landscape of rich musical detail and extremely high-resolution audio reproduction.
The D17 has three DAC modes
NOS mode (PCM uses R2R DAC decoding, DSD uses 1-bit DAC decoding)
All to R2R (OS mode, all to PCM format)
All to 1 bit (SD mode, all to DSD format)
Four-channel, fully symmetrical R2R architecture
284 high-precision resistors with a tolerance of one ten-thousandth
The D17 features a four-channel, fully symmetrical R2R architecture and 284 carefully selected, ultra-precise film resistors with a tolerance of one ten-thousandth. Equipped with iBasso's proprietary hardware resistance compensation circuit and software compensation algorithms, the D17 achieves a THD+N of -104 dB in R2R mode, surpassing conventional R2R devices by more than ten decibels and competing with various flagship R2R desktop DACs. R2R decoding provides a rich analog sound that produces a warm, refined sound with exceptional musicality.
64 PWM DAC, 1-bit architecture
Opening the door to acoustic realism
In 1-bit mode, the four channels L+, L-, R+, and R- each have 16E, for a total of 64 PWM DAC units working together. Controlled by the FPGA Master 3.0 with nanosecond-accurate I/O delay control and “wiring delay” compensation to ensure that the signal edges arriving at the DAC are aligned and strictly synchronized. This not only achieves an impressive THD+N of -114 dB, but also significantly improves sound detail and density.
FPGA Master 3.0
Inside Precise nanosecond control, global clock regeneration
The D17 is equipped with iBasso's proprietary FPGA Master 3.0 architecture, which is deeply integrated with two Accusilicon femtosecond oscillators with extremely low phase noise to create a pure, unified single clock source. Through high-precision nanosecond delay control and real-time clock regeneration technology, the system can simultaneously compensate for R2R decoding and 1-bit decoding, reducing clock jitter and distortion to an extremely low level. This ultimately results in highly accurate sound reproduction that ensures every detail is reproduced in its original form.
Two Korg 6P1 Nutubes
Fully balanced headphone amplifier with incredible performance
The D17's two Nutube 6P1 tubes give the sound a unique tube character and a warm, soft yet dynamic texture. The anode is powered by a 24V high-voltage supply, which ensures better linearity. Combined with the powerful TI BUF634A buffer amplifier, this ensures a stable and powerful power supply. This allows the D17 to deliver over 1200 mW + 1200 mW at 32 Ω, easily driving a wide range of flagship IEMs and high-impedance headphones.
Three-layer seismic isolation system
Secondary reduction of the microphone effect
The D17 features an isolation system consisting of a double-layer printed circuit board combined with damping materials. The two PCB layers are connected to each other via pin connectors, which effectively distributes and dampens lateral loads and significantly reduces resonance. The tube is mounted with damping materials on the second circuit board layer, which provides secondary reduction of the microphone effect. Actual measurements show that the microphone effect is below the threshold of human perception. It consistently ranks at the top among all iBasso tube amplifier products.
Dual battery architecture demonstrates solid performance
Pure sound quality at the highest level, even in complex passages
The D17 features a dual battery architecture, with the DAC and headphone amplifier powered by separate batteries. This dual architecture ensures that the headphone amplifier section receives a stable power supply while effectively isolating digital interference. Whether at high gain or high load, the D17 can maintain pure and stable output, significantly reducing distortion caused by unstable power supplies. It truly delivers clear and flawless sound quality and is capable of reproducing your recordings with the highest musical quality.
24-step 4-section attenuator
Analog and digital volume controls
The D17 supports both analog and digital volume controls. The analog volume control uses iBasso's 24-step 4-section step attenuator, which is only one-tenth the size of a conventional step attenuator but retains all of its advantages. The difference between the left and right channels is less than +/- 0.1 dB. Digital volume control is provided by a professional DSP module. The combination of analog and digital volume control enables more precise volume output.
