The HYPE 4 MKII isn't just a retune—it's been redesigned from the ground up. With brand new balanced armature drivers from Knowles, the second-generation IMPACT2 subwoofer system, and a new technical approach, the HYPE 4 MKII takes a giant leap forward in both sound and technology.
Gen 2 IMPACT2
The HYPE 4 MKII features the latest generation of the IMPACT2 subwoofer system, which is also used in the Monarch MKIV. Two dynamic 8 mm composite diaphragm drivers housed in a pneumatic acoustic chamber developed by THIEAUDIO deliver precise, focused, and deep sub-bass tones, while the rest of the frequency range remains clear and neutral.
Knowles Balanced Armature Drivers
The MKII design has been reengineered from the ground up. With imported American Knowles balanced armature drivers, the HYPE 4 MKII makes no compromises when it comes to sonic and technical excellence.
Two of the latest drivers from the Knowles RAB series focus on rich and pronounced low mids, while a separate ED-33465 driver boosts the mid-high frequencies. This crossover strategy significantly improves imaging characteristics and tonal depth in the midrange.
A single Knowless RAD-33518 ultra-tweeter has been strategically positioned within the nozzle to achieve an extension of the upper highs that can rival electrostatic and planar drivers.
Improved tuning approach
The key to THIEAUDIO's global success is the attention it pays to sound balance. THIEAUDIO has taken a step back to assess what distinguishes the interface between studio neutrality and music enjoyment, and has incorporated its new tuning approach into the HYPE 4 MKII.
The subwoofer output is thunderous at 9 dB, but with a sharp cutoff; at 150 Hz, the bass is precise and free of exaggeration.
The midrange features a lush 400 Hz boost while remaining neutral between the bass and treble cutoffs. This makes the midrange naturally warm without sounding muffled, while remaining faithful to the reproduction of a studio monitor.
The highs have been carefully tuned to achieve a delayed roll-off, which allows for excellent detail reproduction and high headroom in the soundstage without sounding harsh.
Excellence in engineering
The HYPE 4 MKII was acoustically engineered with a 4-way crossover and a 4-tube system with 7 separate passive components. Physically, the MKII is constructed from CNC-machined solid aluminum blocks that are hand-finished and then anodized to ensure a professional appearance and durability.
Each HYPE 4 MKII unit is assembled by hand and undergoes independent quality control checks at every stage of production, including individual driver pairing, driver assembly, cabinet machining, final assembly, and packaging.
High-quality modular cable
The HYPE 4 MKII features THIEAUDIO's new high-performance cable with 7N Ultra-OFC copper and silver strands. With their thick 4-core design, the cables feel as high-quality as they sound transparent.
Thanks to the modular connector system, you can switch between 4.4 mm balanced and 3.5 mm unbalanced connectors to ensure compatibility with any device.
