MEMS (microelectromechanical systems)

Following the famous sound signature of Kiwi Ears, the Halcyon offers a studio-monitor-like neutral tuning with an enhanced sub-bass boost. The sub-bass boost features a balanced 8 dB bass boost that is cleanly cut off at 200 Hz to ensure a non-bloated midrange. The mids are natural and clear, reflecting the precision of studio monitors. This highlights instruments and vocals and ensures exceptional imaging and detail precision. The highs peak precisely at 3 kHz for perfect compensation of the pinna gain and feature a high-frequency roll-off that aligns with modern tuning preferences.

A 10mm dynamic driver with a composite diaphragm handles the sub-bass and delivers powerful yet well-controlled and precise bass reproduction. This creates a true subwoofer-like bass experience, while the midrange remains clear and free of coloration. The midrange is driven by two custom-tuned DEK-series balanced armature drivers, specifically tuned to provide a natural sound balance for instruments and vocals. The treble is handled by a custom-designed WBFK-series balanced armature tweeter, which is combined with USound’s MEMS driver to achieve extremely high resolution.
