Five core design elements

Comprehensively revised

The DM15 AKM represents a genuine leap forward, combining a more compact form factor with an even stronger feature set. Integrated into its portable chassis are five core building blocks: the CD drive, the USB DAC, the decoding module, and the Bluetooth module, all controlled and coordinated by a microcontroller (MCU). This thorough evolution of the "core" elevates the device in every respect and places it above the competition in its product category.

Dual AK4493S DACs

Classic return, unadulterated original sound

The DM15 AKM relies on two classic AKM DAC chips – the AK4493S. Based on VELVET SOUND™ technology, these chips deliver low distortion and a wide dynamic range, producing a warm, natural sound with a rich, lingering decay and a crystal-clear soundstage – a truly authentic and texture-rich sound.

aptX Lossless Bluetooth

A new level of experience

The DM15 AKM is equipped with Qualcomm's QCC3086 Bluetooth chip and supports aptX Lossless for true wireless lossless transmission, as well as aptX Adaptive, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, and SBC. This delivers CD-quality lossless sound wirelessly, taking the Bluetooth experience in high-res quality to a new level.

*Bluetooth transmission mode does not support DSD files.

*Bluetooth protocols may differ between certain brands. Please make sure to set the required Bluetooth codec on the receiving device before connecting.

Custom CD drive

Reliable disc playback

The disc-reading quality of the DM13 has already been significantly optimized. The DM15 builds further on this foundation, with additional customization of the CD drive. It features a self-rebounding steel ball design for disc alignment, making disc insertion and removal smoother and reducing the risk of scratches.

*Due to the structural limitations of a portable CD drive, FiiO cannot guarantee flawless reading of all CDs. FiiO will continue to optimize reading performance through future firmware updates. *Minor skipping when reading certain high-capacity CDs is normal due to variations in mechanism, manufacturing materials, and recording conditions.

HiFi-grade USB DAC

Outstanding decoding performance

The long-awaited USB DAC function is now a reality. While maintaining consistently excellent CD sound quality and compatibility, the DM15 AKM also integrates a HiFi-grade USB DAC. It supports high sampling rates of up to 384kHz/32-bit as well as DSD256.

*Only FAT32-formatted external storage devices are supported.

*Only music ripping in CDDA format is supported. For system firmware updates or CD ripping, a Type-C USB flash drive of 32GB or less is recommended.

Patented desktop mode

The battery protection specialist

This mode bypasses the battery for stationary use, protecting it from strain even under high output power. It also significantly reduces the number of charge/discharge cycles, which substantially helps extend battery lifespan. *Should the device power off due to a 0% battery level, charging will begin automatically, even if desktop mode is active, in order to protect battery health.

ESP switch (Electronic Shock Protection)

By enabling the ESP function, users can enjoy a stable and engaging sound experience whether the player is used on the go or stationary on a desk.

*Enabling the ESP function improves playback stability, but switching it on or off does not have a significant effect on disc-reading performance.

Custom buttons and functions

Tailored to your habits

The DM15 AKM supports personalized customization, unlocking flexible control options and exclusive output modes that perfectly adapt to your operating habits and audio equipment requirements.

Custom knob button function

Easily set the function of the knob button in the menu, for example configuring the knob as a play/pause shortcut, making everyday music control more convenient and intuitive.

PRE-OUT output selection

Supports switching the output mode. In the menu, you can set PRE OUT to LO output only*. When enabled, the device delivers a fixed, maximum-volume output – specially tailored for desktop HiFi systems such as external power amplifiers and speakers.

*When the LO-only output mode is enabled, the device's headphone output is disabled. The volume at the LO output will then be at its maximum level. Please therefore make sure that the volume of your connected devices is set to an appropriate level before connecting external devices or enabling this function, in order to avoid excessive volume damage to ears or equipment.
