The Topping A70pro is one of TOPPING's first full-colour desktop amps, with several notable features. The user-friendly control panel and sleek user interface provide a unique experience. It can be used as a headphone amplifier as well as a preamplifier.
The T'ang-ku-la module for a longer lifetime
The T'ang-ku-la module uses a new three-stage feedback circuit that significantly reduces noise and high-frequency distortion and raises the dynamic range to an unprecedented 147 dB. This new technology significantly reduces heat generation, which increases reliability, extends the life of electronic components and reduces thermal noise.
Use of a newly optimised circuit architecture
With the newly designed ultra-low noise input stage, the noise performance of the balanced input is further improved while the input impedance is increased up to 20kΩ for better compatibility with incoming equipment. The gain architecture has also been redesigned to further reduce noise and distortion at high gain levels.
Ground loops magically disappear / Relay volume control
When multiple units are used in combination, ground loop noise can occur. The Topping A70 Pro has a GND/LIFT switch. When ground loop noise occurs, switch to LIFT and the noise disappears. The A70 Pro has an actual noise floor of <0.2uVrms @G=L and <0.8uVrms @G=H, providing excellent performance at both high and low gain. In addition, the A70 Pro uses relays and resistor networks to form an R2R volume control module that provides precise volume control, long life and zero deviation even at low volume.
12V Trigger Input
The A70 Pro features a 12V trigger input and output interface that allows it to be triggered by other devices to turn them on and off, and also to actively trigger other devices to turn them on and off synchronously. With an output voltage of 50mV, the A70 Pro achieves an unparalleled dynamic range of 106.3dB while producing vanishingly low distortion at loads: 17000mW of powerful output with low distortion.
Various functions and remote control
The A70 Pro has one set of balanced XLR and one set of unbalanced RCA inputs, but with the Ext90 input expansion (not included) it offers a total of four balanced XLR and two unbalanced RCA inputs. It is well suited for headphones and can be used as a preamplifier. The A70 Pro offers the same high performance in headphone amp mode as well as at an RCA output impedance of only 50 ohms and an XLR output impedance of only 100 ohms, so it can be used with a wide range of input impedances for different power amplifiers. In addition, a full-featured remote control interface adds convenience to operation.
