Each channel of the Topping PA3 is driven by a MA12070 Class D amplifier chip. This balanced design allows for high channel separation, reduced crosstalk and increased power. Cooling fins placed on top of the chips increase passive cooling performance and thus durability.
Output power - Ideal for bookshelf and small floorstanding speakers
The maximum output power of the Topping PA3s is 2 x 80 watts with a THD+N value of 10%. At 65 watts output power, the THD+N value drops by a factor of 10 to 1% at 4 ohms.
To tickle the maximum sonic performance out of the Topping PA3s, the motto is therefore, the lower the volume, the higher the sound quality. This is a common phenomenon with amplifiers. Up to 2 x 65 watts output power at 4 ohms, i.e. at about 80% of the maximum possible volume, you can use the full sonic potential of the PA3s.
Balanced TRS and Stereo RCA Inputs
The Topping RA3s offers balanced TRS inputs and the classic RCA inputs. By using a balanced input signal increases channel separation it eliminates the problem of potential ground loops. An audio signal processed as cleanly as possible is the key to good sound.
The inputs are selectable via the front panel switch. The previously selected input is automatically selected when the power is turned on again.
The Comfort Zone
The lowest THD+N value and thus the best sonic performance is achieved by the Topping PA3s in the range of 10 to 20 watts output power. The perfect combination In combination with the "Topping D10 Balanced" which provides a balanced output signal, you have the ideal and small desktop solution for your loudspeakers.
