HiFiMAN HE1000 V2 Stealth

When it was released in summer 2015, the HIFIMAN HE1000 established a new super class for headphones and topped the charts of practically all trade magazines. Rarely has a product received such unanimous international reviews. HIFIMAN has now revised the details of its reference headphones.

Version 2 of the HE1000 has an extended adjustment range of the headband, which now allows both petite ladies and very sturdy gentlemen to find a comfortable position for the headphones on their own heads. In the course of this change, the driver housings have been made slightly less deep and the ear pads have been tapered more. This results in a slightly improved frontal location. The ear pads now have a polyester surface, so that even long listening sessions can be enjoyed without sweating. The previous combination of anodised steel and aluminium on the housing is now made entirely of aluminium and the headphones are another 60 grams lighter as a result. The cables, which were often considered bulky, have been replaced by very soft tubing. The sound of the HE1000 V2, however, remains simply terrific and, thanks to small changes in the driver diaphragm, is even a tad better than before.

Nothing has changed with regard to the membrane, which has a thickness in the nanometre range, and the use of the patented "Window Shade Grill" as a driver screen. The membrane film itself is so thin that it would be practically invisible when viewed from the side. It is framed by an asymmetrical magnet system with relatively large magnets on the side facing away from the ear and smaller ones on the side of the headphones facing towards the ear. This trick reduces interference in the reproduction and allows for an extremely fast response due to reduced "air congestion" between the diaphragm and the magnets.

The HE1000 V2 continues to have an incredibly open and yet completely homogeneous sound image. Given a powerful drive, these headphones are capable of reproducing even the darkest basses with the same precision as the finest chime sounds.

Visually, HIFIMAN went new ways with the HE1000. Together with a team of US designers, they came up with a simple, timeless and elegant exterior. In a combination of steel, aluminium, wood and genuine calfskin, the sound miracle finds its form.

In addition to a sturdy imitation leather box, three high-quality cables with different connections are included in the scope of delivery, so that the HE1000 V2 can be used with many devices.
